Rain, Rain, Go Awayy

What a WONDERFUL week we had!  Good friends and family...can't ask for much more than that.  Today on the other hand has been super rainy and the perfect day for a napp.  Needless to say I took full advantage of the rainy day.  I enjoyed my nap but am ready for the sun to come back out so we can enjoy the pool.

As for the week:  I spent Tuesday with my teaching colleague, Ashley, to get stuff ready for the new school year--I can't believe it's already time to start thinking of the new school year but wow--I'm super excited for my new school and the new adventure I am about to be headed on.  After getting our lives as Kindergarten teachers together I headed to meet up with my BFF, Rachel,  for some Mexican followed by a movie at slumber party at my house.  It's so great to catch up and tell each other how much we hate each other.  Don't worry that we were obsessed with our movie popcorn boxes--they're pretty sweeeet!

Wednesday was suppppper crazy--which is one reason I didn't blog (I like to wait til I have LOTS to tell you all).  I met up with Ashley and she rode with me to my new school, Green Run Elementary and we went and scoped out my classroom situation--I must say. It's not too shabby at all.  I have LOTS to do but that's what this week is for!
 Room 10 at it's finest!

Wednesday night, Craig and I went to the Mancuso Mansion for some Vodka Sauce and pasta.  We were able to catch with up with my big, Stefanie, and Lori! It was such a great time to sit around the dinner table catching up and laughing at good stories.  I love being able to spend time with my sorority sisterss.

As for the rest of the week--I hung out with my nephew who is WALKINGGG and went to the infamous Spaghetti Eddies:  Yes, if you come to Chesapeake--you should definitely check it out!  After we filled up on pizza and realized we really need to get our lives together, we joined OneLife Fitness!  We're super excited for our new gymm and getting ourselves looking stunning again!

As for this week, it's full of babysitting my nephew (my brother-n-law flew back to Africa today for 5 weeks), working out, and working in my classroom. Happy Sundayyy!
Have a great week with a wink and smile from our pup, Bo!

Florida or Bust.

Remember that time I traveled for a whole week straight!?!? WHEW! We're exhausted! Traveling sure does make you tired and I can't figure it out--you just sit for hours on end.

Florida was a blast.  It was a great time visiting with family and celebrating the marriage of Logan and Dave.  Craig's cousin got married on Saturday and it was such a beautiful wedding. Sometimes it makes me want to go through the wedding planning again..and then I remember I don't.  We flew down to Florida on Thursday evening and had dinner with the whole gang.  On Friday, we went to the mall (I got a pedicure) and we did a little shopping before it was time to head to the church for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

 Practicing for the biggg day.
 My date for the weekendddd.
  My wedding/bride twinnn.

Saturday we got up early and went and soaked up some rays at the pool.  It was a beautiful day so the pool was the perfect fit!  After the pool--it was time for "the wedding."  We headed to get ready and headed out for the rest of the evening.  We had a blast and Logan and Dave were so happy!!

 Best date everrrr.
 With the bride/cousinnn.

 The newlywedsss.

It was a great weekend and a beautiful wedding. We had great flights there and coming home which is always a good thing.  I even tried not to ask 1,000 questions to Craig about everything taking place on the plane ride.  I am really looking forward to a relaxing week with friends, slumber parties, and well...relaxing.  Next week will begin my strive to get ready for the school year!!! I go to my classroom on Thursday so stay tuned for pictures of my *new* classrooom!!!

Big Lights, Big City

New York City is AWESOME! What an amazing trip I had with my sister!  We left on Sunday evening to go visit my friend, Erin, in New York City.  We stayed with her in Brooklyn, NY and to say the least--we had a BLAST!  A lot of the pictures that I took do not even do the city justice! It's a place that everyone should go visit at least once in their life. I could probably write a whole book about the whole trip but I'll summarize each day.

Sunday:  We flew out of Norfolk and arrived to NY late Sunday night. The plane rides were great and we had a lay over in Hotlanta!
Essential items on a flightttt.

Monday:  We started off by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge! Yes, we walked across the whole thing.  It ended up being very neat because of the view of the skyline! It was such a nice walk.  We walked all around Lower Manhattan visiting South Seaport, Battery Park, Ground Zero, Little Italy, Chinatown, and Timesquare!  That evening we met up with Erin (she had to work during the days--booo!) and went to get drinks followed by an amazing dinner at one of the restaurants for NYC Restaurant week!  It was delicious!

Tuesday: We got up early to head to the Today show--but not early enough. Haha! They already had went inside when we got there so we stopped for an iced coffee instead!  We started off in Rockefeller Plaza and then began to go through the shops on 5th Ave!  After that, we ended up at the central park followed by another trip down 5th Ave!  We then continued to complain about the pain our bodies were in but continued to the central library, Macy's, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, and back to TimeSquare to meet up with Erin for Mama Mia the broadway show and dinner!

We had an absolute blast and the trip went way to fast! It was so nice to catch up with Erin since it's been toooo long since I've seen her--a whopping month I think!  Guess we'll have to soon start planning our next trip to Chicagooo!! (We're going to just following Erin around from town to town as her and Adam move around!)

Craig and I are off today to head to Florida for his cousin, Logan's wedding!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll blog about our get away to Florida when we return!!!

Living the Dream

Wow! What an exciting week it has been for the Carlton Household so far!  We had a super fun and exciting weeked as well as a WONDERFUL start to the week! I hope this is a sign as to what the rest of the week will be like.

We started the weekend off by going on a much needed date night.  We went to Chick's Oyster Bar and then went putt-putt and to see Bad Teacher.  We ended up meeting up with some friends at putt-putt and went to the movie with them.  Putt putt was wonderful and Craig and I both got a hole-in-one. As for the movie..hilarious! It was really funny and we had a great date night.

Saturday we were slam busyyy!  We started the afternoon off with a cook-out at my uncles house.  We had the usual cookout food and a very intense pool volleyball game.  It was a blast--even though the boys beat us girls.  After the cookout, we traveled out to Langley to watch some of Craig's friends race.  It was super hot but there were some good races.  Overall, it was a great day--besides the mosquito bites.

 Go...go...go!

As for the exciting news...I GOT A J-O-B!  I had a interview on Monday for a new school system and school.  I found out yesterday that I will be the newest Kindergarten teacher at Green Run Elementary School!  I am super excited.  I went and did my pre-paperwork today and I go to a mini-orientation and to sign my contract tomorrow morninggg! I am super excited about my new school!
Yes, this is where i'll be spending ALL of my time come September.

Today, I took a step out of my comfort zone! Craig has already joined the sushi train but I was a little behind.  Needless to say, I tried and fell in love with SUSHI today! I was never to fond of the raw fish idea but OMG--I was missing out!  I had a spicy shrimp roll and a crab roll. Yes, I know it's not really raw fish but you have to start somewhere! I really enjoyed my first sushi trip.  Who wants to go to get sushi soooon?
My delicious lunch!

It surely was a really fun weekend with wonderful people.  I was sad to see it pass but I am super excited my week started off on such a good note.  I hope this is an idea of what the rest of the week will be.  I leave for New York City on Sunday so I know it's going to be an exciting weekend as well! (What is Craig going to do without me?!?) Stayed tuned for my blog about my first trip to "The City" and our trip to Florida that follows (Craig's cousin, Logan, is getting MARRIED!!)!

Bring On The Sunshine

What a dreary Friday! It looks like it's gonna be a Friday full of rain, storms, and humidity.  Craig's already texted to let me know how humid it was and how miserable it is for him to work in.  I promise I didn't rub it in that I was still laying around in my PJs!  Oh the joy of being a teacher!  I wish the sun was shining so I could spend my Friday laying by the pool but a day inside with movies will do as well!

This week has flew by for us and it has been a wonderful one! I think good things are on the horizon for us! I still can't believe we just finished the first week of July.  I'm not sure where the time is going. The fourth of July turned out to be wonderful.  We really had a great time "watching fireworks."  Even though we ended up not watching any fireworks the lightening storm was very entertaining.  It was pretty neat though and we definitely needed the rain.

Nasty Skies and destruction on the beach.
Looove the 4th of July graphic tee.

Craig has been busy working all week! He's been all over town--even to Nags Head a few times! As for me, I've enjoyed laying in bed until I am ready to get up, hanging out with my nephew, and getting some stuff done around the house.  This is the best part about being a teacher--even though the craziness for getting a classroom together will begin sooner than I'm ready for.

Spending my summer days with this handsome young man.

Our July is looking busy already so I'll have some great posts coming in the near future; I might be going to NYC with my sister for the 1st time to visit Erin, Craig's cousin, Logan, will be getting married in Florida, more cookouts, and concerts.  We will stay busy but it's gonna be fun!!

Happy Birthday America!

Happy 4th of July! 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! I love the fireworks, cookouts with friends, and having a long weekend with my husband! It's so exciting that it's here but can't believe that it's already July!!  We have had a fun weekend leading up to 4th of July!

It began with my nephew turning ONE! WOWWW--time sure does fly by. I remember when we were waiting in the hospital for him to arrive and now it's already been a yearrr! He has grown up SO much and he is such a joy in Craig and I's life.  We had a pool party for him Saturday. Here are a few pictures from his party:

We also had a pre-4th of July celebration cookout! It was a lot of fun. Our family and a few of our friends came over for some hamburgers and hot dogs! We finished the night with a little corn hole and my brother-n-law and I were BEAST! It was a BLAST!
