5k Anyone?

Today my dad ran his first 5K! We are super proud of him for working so hard--he reminded us when he finished that 14 years ago and one month ago exactly he was in the hospital with a heart attack!  We are so glad he was able to do something he was working towards!  We had a blast and it was a beautiful morning for a run! (Side note: Why do they make it 3.1 miles?  Doesn't 3 miles sound better?)

We're excited for the hockey game tonight with the family and looking forward to the rest of this beautiful weekend!  Happy Saturday All!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers I have the fortune of knowing!  There are a few special mothers I am going to mention that mean a lot to me.  First off, my very own mother.  She has supported me from the day I was born and is the most caring, loving, and dedicated women I know.  She encourages me to do nothing but my best and is always there for me! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful role model and best friend in my life.  As for the two other mothers very important to me: my sister and my grandmother.   My sister has been nothing but the best for my nephew and works 24/7 to take great care of him--being a parent on her own every other month--she amazes me at all she does and how she still manages to be a great mother to Brayden!  My grandmother: she is also a wonderful person to have in my life.  She is a great supporter and role model!
Mothers all over work harder than anyone else.  They have a full time, 24/7, job.  They are moms, therapists, doctors, and they do it all because they care! I'm so thankful for the mom I have and the moms I know because unfortunately, somewhere out there, there are people not able to love their mom on this special day--make sure you take time to tell your mom you love them and thank them for all they do!
Thanks mom for all you've done!

As for the past few weeks, it's been BUSY--shocking huh?  School has continued to keep me busy and it's crazy to think the year is winding down and summer is on it's way! I'm not complaining!  On an exciting note, Virginia Beach voted to raise taxes (yes, I'm excited--#sorryimnotsorry) which results in P1's keeping their jobs (that's me!).  I haven't gotten the official word so i'll be even more excited once I know for sure but it's sounding promising and i'll keep you updated on the "hopefully" exciting news!!  Thank you Will Sessoms! I may be your biggest fan!

I was able to go and see my cousin graduate which also consisted of a visit to VT and to Longwood--and overall--a weekend away! It was amazing and just what I needed.  Craig could not make it because he was working the whole weekend but we are excited he has this weekend off!

Congrats Corey!
Longwood <3 Prettiest Campus I know of!

This weekend has been wonderful! My grandparents came in town and even came and saw my classroom for the first time (they're marvelous)!  The girls and Brayden went strawberry picking, did some mother's day shopping with the sister and had a girls night with my mom and my sister; they sure are my best friends.  Today we got to celebrate my mom and shower her with a few gifts to show her how marvelous she is!

As for the rest of the day--we will be celebrating Craig's mom tonight and then enjoying our work week!  Have a great week everyone!!
