Our 2nd Anniversary And The Summertime Living's Easy

Sweet summertime--Oh how I love you!  You can tell by the heat outside that summer is in full force!  I love it.  Summer has been such a joy already and we're only two weeks into it!  I was able to enjoy one week off which consisted of laundry, grocery shopping, and well...cleaning up the house followed by a wedding weekend!  I felt so productive last weekend and it was nice having time to get these things done.  For some reason, during the school year I don't find time for well..a lot of things!  Poor Craig has been working long days in the heat but has enjoyed coming home to a clean house and having a planned and somewhat prepared dinner!

Craig and I just celebrated our 2nd Anniversary on Tuesday, June 19th!  I am still not sure of where the time went but it sure has been a great two years!  We are so blessed to have each other, wonderful families, and a loving home and Bobo!  We went to a nice dinner at River Stone Chophouse.  If you live in Hampton Roads, I definetely reccomend it!  We are also going to Disney World to get away and to help celebrate our two years as Mr. and Mrs. a little more!
Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Last weekend TARA GOT MARRIED!  What a wonderful wedding weekend we had. Craig and I drove up to Richmond and stayed with my little sister, Cait, and my big, Stefanie!  We had such a great time!  We went to Farmville on Saturday for the day for the big event.  Needless to say, we could not go to Farmville and not stop at Macado's.  What a delicious lunch we had.  The wedding was perfect and Tara was a beautiful bride!  It was so great to get to celebrate such a wonderful event with such a wonderful friend!  Congrats Tara and Matt!  We are soooo happy for you both!
Beautiful Bride!

Summer school started Monday.  I'll be honest and come Sunday night I was DREADING it! I told Craig I had no idea why I had signed up. I had enjyoed my week off.  Well, I LOVE it!  I have twelve four year olds that are preparing for their first year of school.  They are precious and so excited to be at school.  It's such a good medium.  It gets me up and going in the morning but allows me to have the afternoons to do what I want to do.  No planning is involved--WoooHooo! AND...it's only Monday-Thursday so I have Friday's off!  It's a wonderful program--and a little extra cash!

As for the next week, our nephew is turning TWO and Craig and I only have two days left until we depart for Disney World!  We cannot wait!  Craig seems to be most excited to watch me and my face since I've never been!  Our whole family is going (my parents, my sister and her family, and my grandparents).  It's going to be a BLAST!  We are planning on going to Sea World, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom!  Craig and I are staying an extra few days to spend time with his family down in Florida and we cannot wait to see them!  What a wonderful week away we are going to have!
Cannot wait to be spending my afternoon at this castle and
hanging out with these characters!

I hope you all are enjoying summer and we will have some exciting blogs coming up within the next few weeks!  Happy Summer and STAY COOL!

Good News

I was told great news today! I get to keep my classroom at Green Run Elementary! It has been a long few months with not know what was going to happen with the budget, terminating first years at the beach, then waiting for the news.  What an amazing feeling knowing I get to stay somewhere I love so much!  I love teaching more than anything but getting to stay in a place I love with awesome people makes it so much better!  I am SO excited for next school year and continuing my teaching career at Green Run!  God is good!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for us!  (It's not Craig's favorite season since I get to sleep in and lounge by the pool regularly--but he'll survive)  It's so bittersweet.  It's so nice knowing summer has arrived and it allows for a little rest and relaxation.  It is always sad though seeing your kids move on.  As a teacher, you work hard and watch them grow and then you move them on to their next stage in their education hoping they continue to work hard and do their best.  My kinderbabies have made amazing progress this year--I sure did have a smart class!  I am already looking forward to next year and how I can "organize" my classroom.  Yes, I'm a crazy organizer.

As for the past few weeks: busy and stressful.....but amazing!  I'll start with the amazing part:  Craig had some of his family come into town this past week and it was such a good time.  His cousin Ashley is having a little girl so we were able to celebrate with a baby shower.  We had such a good time spending time with them and we can't wait to head to Florida in just a few short weeks to spend more time with them!  As for the busy and stressful part: packing up a room and wondering next years teaching status.  Luckily my room is almost completely ready for summer and I found out wonderful news so I guess the few days of stress has paid off in the in.

As for summer plans--We are staying busy.  I decided to teach Kindergarten Academy (program that prepares the upcoming Kindergartners for attending school).  It's only a few days a week for three figures so I thought it would be fun and give me something to do.  As for Craig, he's busy working! (Tough life for the "regular" working jobs.)  We will be going to Disney World with the whole family the first week in July and I cannot wait!  I have never been so don't be alarmed if you find me in the autograph lines for the characters!  Needless to say: Disney--here we come!

Anddddd...Our 2nd Anniversary is only 5 Days Away!

Happy Birthday To Me and Hello June

Happy Birthday to me....well, a little over a week ago.  It sure has been a very busy two weeks which is why I am just getting around to blog about my 25th birthday!  To catch you up, my birthday was last Saturday, the 26th of May! It always works out that I get a three day weekend for my birthday--I'm a luck girl!  I had a fabulous birthday.  We went to Lake Gaston to see my grandparents and had a blast with the family--continuous eating, sun bathing, and relaxing--all which I really needed (well, not the eating part). We headed home Sunday so I could meet up with some of my friends for dinner at the beach! We had a blast and it was so great to see them all.  On my day off, Monday, Craig and I went to the beach with my cousin and to meet my friend, Kirby, for some relaxation and well--I must have turned my brain off and decided using sunscreen was a stupid idea.  Well, I was the hard headed one and ended up red as a crab!  Needless to say, my legs and arms still have a redish tent to them.  I did get to relax and enjoy my day off.

My birthday came and gone and June quickly arrived! I cant believe it's already June.  We have big things happening in June:  Craig finished the deck, family is coming in town, school ends, and weddings!

Craig tore down the old deck and rebuilt the deck bigger and better. We LOVE it.  Needless to say--if it's nice out, you can find us outside!  It's perfect and he worked really hard to make it wonderful! We had my birthday cookout on Sunday and the deck was finished just in time!

We have family coming in town this weekend.  Craig's cousin is having a babyyyy and we are having a baby shower for her on Saturday!  We cannot wait to see them and are counting down until their arrival on Thursday!

As for school ending, I don't even know what to say.  I cannot believe the year is over in just 8 days.  I feel so excited yet so stressed at the same time.  What a wonderful school year I had--I can't complain at all--wonderful coworkers and an amazing group of kinderbabies!  Closing down a classroom is hard work and it seems as if there is endless amounts of checklists and paperwork but it is something that has to be done. So for now, I'm taking it day by day.  What's the plan for next year? I have NO idea.  Since I have no idea for what lies ahead come September it makes it more tough closing down at the end of the year--I hope each day I hear good news but I'm still patiently waiting! I know there is a plan for me so I'm trying to keep patient.  I know it will all work out even though at times it seems as it wont.  Keep your fingers crossed the good news will arrive soon!

Weddings!!! YAYYYY! Two of my good friends are getting married at the end of the month! We will be heading to Farmville June 23rd to see my pledge sister, Tara, tie the knot! I cannot wait to celebrate such an exciting time of her life with her!  As for my other friend, Erin, I will not be able to make it to her wedding but I know it will be beautiful and I cannot wait to see pictures!

It's amazing how time flies.  I guess the saying "time flies when you're having fun" is the truth.  Craig and I have been so blessed with weekend get aways, a new deck, and being able to spend more time together that the time is just flying past us!  We are looking forward to an excited yet busy June and hopefully my nights won't be too busy!  Enjoy your week and HAPPY JUNE!!
