Spring has SPRUNG

Spring has SPRUNG--it did not just arrive; it literally sprung on us--it did not take a chance to introduce itself which I am totally okay with; Besides all of this pollen everywhere.  The warm weather has been so wonderful--flip flops, cute work clothes, and dinners on the deck.  Needless to say--I'm excited for the season change even though I'm not enjoying the nasty pollen everywhere (my car is yellow now; not black) and how it makes me feel at times.  I get bored easily of the same ole' winter clothes and get excited for a "change."  Give it a couple of months and I promise I'll be ready for sweaters again.

Craig and I have stayed busy lately--enjoying the warm weather and getting the house all ready for the summer.  We are finally covering all of the wood on our house and covering it with vinyl.  What does it mean? I'm not sure but I can tell you it looks better than it did before.  It took me a while to realize it's a difficult job and wouldn't be done in a day like I thought it would but it's getting close and I'm super excited!  I'll post pictures of the "new look" once we get the shutters painted and it's all done.  So far, Craig and my dad are doing an awesome job and it's already looking amazingggg.

As for the upcoming weekend--I'm so excited.  My sorority sister, Tara, is getting married and well it's time to celebrate!  I'm heading to Northern Virginia with my little one to help celebrate all of the exciting things coming up for her!  Yay for bridal showers and bachelorette parties!  I'll be sure to blog about the wonderful weekend I have with such wonderful ladies.

EXCITING NEWS:
My sister, Heather, ran and finished her first half marathon on St. Patrick's Day weekend! So proud
Crossing the finish line.

Craig's cousin, Ashley, found out today she is going to be having a GIRL!  We are so excited for McKinley to make her grand entrance in September and we both can't wait to meet her!
Can't wait for McKinley to be in our photos!!!

Needless to say, we are continuing to stay busy but we can't complain!  We're truly blessed for all that we have!  Until next time, enjoy the beautiful weather!

If You Wanna Be My Lover, You Gotta Get With My Friends

Time sure does fly by when you're having fun and we had a lot of fun this past weekend!  Craig and I went on a ROAD TRIP with my BFF, Rachel and her boyfriend Nick! We drove up Friday night to Wintergreen and snowboarded all weekend. Craig's two friends came up and joined us on the slopes for Saturday and we all had so much fun.   Even though we were pretty sore Sunday morning, we all had a blast.  From the car rides to Rachel and I's photo shoot on the mountain--the boys were pretty much annoyed all weekend--they had no idea what they had brought on.  Rachel and I reminisced on our college days and well, wanted to go back.  Yes, people probably still "hate" us but according to Nick--it's scary how alike we are!  It was a wonderful ending to our snowboarding season and we're looking forward to next Winter already!

The Gang
And People hate us <3 hahaha.

Since snowboarding season is over, I'm glad that it's at least WARM here this week!  The weather this week has been AMAZING and definitely has me ready for SpringIt's time for flip flops to come out and I'm LOVING it!  Craig's been out all evening working in the yard and preparing for our summer cookouts!  We've got the windows open and enjoying the warm weather!  It's really: Goodbye snowboards and cute scarves, hello Springtime!

As for the next few weekends, we don't have any major plans.  It's a bittersweet feeling having no weekend get aways.  It's nice to know we have no packing to do or nothing we have to be at but we love getting away from the hustle and bustle of home.  Until next time--enjoy this WONDERFUL Spring Sunshine!

Relaxation or Bust

March has arrived!  Hopefully Spring is just around the corner--sundresses and flip flops are beginning to call my name!  It's so easy to get caught up in the busy hectic schedule of the world around us.  Craig and I are taking a break this weekend and doing....well, nothing!  It's actually the perfect weekend to do it--rainyWe have no plans and no schedule--it feels weird yet I feel so relaxed.  This weekend is needed after the craziness we've been living--I feel like I say that every time I blog.  I guess we're not sit at home and do nothing type of people but  I guess it's a good time for random road trips and busy weekdays since we're still "living the dream."

It's been crazy for us the past few weeks--facing many ups and downs but we're sticking together and keeping our faith strong.

As for the downs: I found out recently that well..education is cutting yet again.  It seems that everywhere I go--they have a "shortfall"--maybe I'm the jinx.  Although I've taught for two years, I'm still the newbie in my school system so I'm out yet again.  It's very discouraging at times (I wonder if this is a sign that teaching isn't suppose to be what I'm doing--but I LOVE going to work everyday and making a difference for these children I spend my days with; so I'm telling myself to stick with it) but I continue to tell myself--things will work out (as everyone else does) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  This time has been harder--since I love my school, the people I work with, but most importantly my students.  It's been a great year and I've seen my students make awesome progress so I'm hoping for the best.  God has a plan--and I'm just hanging in there until I know what it is--saying a prayer each night that all will work out.

Enough of the depressing stuff: Craig and I have been quite the travelers this winter.  We also seem to be on the go and if we're in town we have something planned to do (hence why it's nice to have a weekend of no obligations). We recently went on a trip to Seven Springs in PA to go snowboarding.  We took a bus trip but we had a blast--even though I was sick with a stomach bug (lets talk about no energy and snowboarding in the same sentence--ughhhh).  We snowboarded from 9-9 pm and well, I think I'm still catching up on some sleep.

Sitting at the top of the mountain!

We have another snowboarding trip planned next weekend to Wintergreen with one of my very best friends, Rachel, and her boyfriend.  It shall be a great time and I can't wait for this next week to fly by so we can be hititng the slopes together!

Last Year Shenanigans! Can't wait for this yearsss trip!!!

As for everything else, we're continuing to spend as much time with our nephew, Brayden, since he is growing like a weed and getting smarter everyday.  We don't mind that he calls me "Cug" and Uncle Craig "Abuh".  One day--we'll find out what those names mean!  We also continue to spend as much time with our families since they are such a big part of our lives.  Despite the ups and downs, we are truly blessed and thankful for all we have!
Where has the time gone?

HAPPY MARCH Y'ALL!!!
