Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful? What a wonderful song! I was able to work a wedding yesterday with Weddings By Michelle and wow, it sure is different on the other side of things! It was so neat to see everything transform into something beautiful--being the bride you never get to see the whole thing come together but A LOT of hard work goes into the makings of a wedding! It was awesome to see the bride so happy and excited for the new life that lays ahead of her. For a few moments--i wanted to rush home and put my wedding gown on and twirl around the house as if i was the "princess" again! It makes me think back to when Craig and I tied the knot--what a blur of a night--it FLEW by! I wish I could go back and play it in SLOW motion so I could enjoy it all over again. Craig and I are coming up on our two year anniversary and the only thing to say is TIME FLIES! I cannot believe we've already spent two years of our lives together but at least they've been two wonderful years! If you have a wedding approaching, remember to enjoy every moment of your special day--it goes by way too fast!
As for the past few weeks--life has been non-stop! Surprise surprise! I just looked and could not believe I hadn't blogged since the end of Spring Break! Craig and I have had busy weekends and not been able to spend a lot of time together unfortunately! He's been busy helping out with a lighting company on the weekends setting up and taking down the equipment before and after events. He really enjoys it and it's keeping him very busy. I've had baby showers, helped with a wedding, grandparents have visited and I tried to relax as much as possible!
School is slowly coming to an end; it's a bittersweet feeling! I'm sure ready for the summer but definitely gonna miss this group of kids i have this year! They've worked so hard and come so far. It's also bittersweet because at this point; I am facing packing up my classroom once again. I'm hoping for some marvelous news by the end of the school year so I'm still staying hopeful that the news will come!
May is here in just a few days and well; it's my birthday month! WOOHOOO! That calls for a celebration! I think I'll begin celebrating May 1st through May 26th this year! Why not?!?
We've got another busy weekend ahead of us! I'm going to be heading to see my cousin, Corey, graduate from Radford! Woohoo! Of course we can't go there without a stop at Longwood on the way home! I'm looking forward to a visit at "home." I sure do miss Longwood and am so ready to go back and stock up on new Longwood apparel!!! Have a great week everyone!

Goodbye Spring Break, Hello Real World
Well, spring break has officially come to an end. It's back to twenty kindergartners tomorrow; tying shoes and blowing noses--and the way the pollen is, I'm sure we'll have some noses to blow. This week was just what I needed and allowed me to have much needed rest and relaxation. It's amazing how one week off can rejuvenate you for the rest of the school year. I'm ready to head back to school and get the fourth nine weeks kicked off. It's amazing how fast the school year goes and how fast these precious children who couldn't even spell their name or identify a letter have grown up. I must say I'm SOO proud of my kindergartners this year--they've all worked SOO hard!
As for spring break--amazing! Two hour naps were amazing (I'm not sure how I'm gonna adjust to a full day at school tomorrow with no nap time). I was able to spend some time with my BFF from college and go to a Tide's baseball game. Craig and I love a good double date! I then was able to spend some time working on the house--painted the shutters and worked in the flower beds! We were also able to go to the circus with my family! We had a blast! I was also fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with my sister and nephew--I'm truly blessed to have such a wonderful family! So between naps I caught up on TV, worked in the yard a little, and was able to do a little working out. I was hoping Craig could take a day off to do something fun but it just never worked out! Guess there is always summer!

BFF Double Date at the Tide's Game.
It's getting there!
Circus time.
I'm preparing myself for bed and preparing for heading back to work tomorrow! I'm sure Craig can't wait for me to get back to work instead of sleeping in until 8:30 am each day! It's not much longer before it's time to start preparing for the summer! (Let's just keep praying that I'll have a job before the end of the school year! Let's hope we have a smooth week back in room 10! Until next time we'll be busy with hockey playoffs, baby showers, and more house work!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to you all! Today has definitely flew by but what a wonderful day to celebrate Easter! We have had a very awesome Easter weekend and it's hard to believe it's already almost over! Craig and I can't believe we are already celebrating our 2nd Easter as Mr. and Mrs. I am not sure where the time goes but it's flying by! The weather is beautiful out and nothing is better than being able to spend Easter with family. We were able to go to church today to celebrate this wonderful holiday with our family. We followed church with dinner at my parent's house and an egg hunt with our little nephew! He sure is growing up so quickly. We are blessed to have such a wonderful family and everything that we are able to have and enjoy! As for now--we're relaxing on the couch and enjoying the rest of our Easter afternoon!
Happy Easter!
As for the weekend--it was busy but was a blast. Friday night, I went and had dinner with my sister and nephew followed by the movie "Hop" and popcorn! It was such a relaxing night and we had a blast! Craig went to the hockey game with some of the guys and was so excited to see the Admirals win their 24th game in a row. Yesterday, I went with my sister and Brayden to see the Easter Bunny--what an exciting event. We then shopped til we dropped! Craig was able to go to Richmond to see his brother and friends race. Since he doesn't get home until late on nights like these, I spent the night at my sisters so I wouldn't hear 18,234 noises in the house until he got home--yes, I'm still a baby about being home alone!
As for the rest of the week--I've got nothing to do! Two words for all of you: SPRING BREAK!! I can't say Craig is super excited--he'd rather be at home too but I'm really excited for a week of rest and relaxation! We do have an exciting week filled with the circus and a wedding! We hope you all have had a wonderful Easter weekend just as we have!

Call Me, Maybe?
As I sit back and reminisce on the weekend celebrating the soon to be Mrs. Scruggs I keep going back to my new found jam, Call Me, Maybe! What a classic song! It has the best beat and well, I'm obsessed. I guess singing it at the top of our lungs all evening really stuck with me and well, I'm LOVING it! This past weekend was a blast. I got to spend a lot of time with my sorority sisters and spend time with the bride! We had a blast at the Bridal Shower and had a great time at the Bachelorette Party too! Nothing beats a good weekend with wonderful friends! <> On my way home from Northern Virginia I had to make a stop at the outlets in Williamsburg to see what type of deals they had! It was the end to a wonderful weekend!
As for Craig, he stayed home and rested--he was sick this past weekend so took it easy on Saturday. I was so glad he was feeling better when I got home on Sunday!
The official bad news came today. I got the final decision letter from the school system that our contracts are not being renewed for next year. So many emotions going through my head--but I only have one choice and that's to be positive about the situation. I've been so blessed this year with a wonderful school and colleagues and I'm so thankful for the school year I've had this year. As for the other side--it's stressful! What do I do? Why Me? I guess some of these questions we'll never have the answer to. I feel at times I work so hard to be let down in the end but I'm trying to keep my head high and hope for the best. I could write a whole post on my feelings of the situation. So here's to keeping my fingers crossed that the perfect teaching position will head my way--and I won't be sad if it's right where I am right now!
On a brighter note--Spring Break is just around the corner. One day with the kiddies and a teacher work day stand between me and my break! I finished report cards early so Friday will be a day to get organized and ready for the last nine weeks of this school year (Where does the time go?)! I am ready for Spring Break and it's mostly so I can relax and REST!
Exciting News for the Carlton's:
- I found out I am going to be teaching Kindergarten Academy this summer! It's a program for title one schools and it allows the students to get a chance to experience "school life" before they enter Kindergarten in September! I am super excited!
- We are going to Disney World in 3 Months!
